ICA Gruppen and the founders of the company have divested Kjell & Co to FSN Capital. The founders will, however, remain as owners through a reinvestment in the purchasing company. Advokatfirman Lindahl advised ICA Gruppen and Gulliksson advised the founders in the transaction.
The founders started Kjell & Co in 1990 and ICA Gruppen has been a partner in the company since 2006. Kjell & Co sells consumer electronics in more than 70 stores in Sweden as well as through an online store. The company has almost 500 employees and a turnover of SEK 930 million in 2013. The deal is subject to approval from the Swedish Competition Authority.
Gulliksson’s team consisted of Mikael Karlsson (lead partner) and Niclas Ihrsén (M&A). Lindahl assisted ICA Gruppen in the transaction with a team that consisted of Johan Hessius (lead partner), Anders Moberg (project manager), Felix Boman and Erik Sundgren (M&A), Dennis Hansson (Banking & Finance) and Erik Brändt (Competition).
