Malmö Näringslivsgala is Malmö’s annual business gala scheduled for 13 February at Malmö Live. Companies that have distinguished themselves from others will be showered with awards at the gala. Karin Strandberg, Partner at Gulliksson, is a member of the jury for Årets Jobbkomet, an award given for outstanding job creation.
“This will be my fifth year and it is still equally rewarding. I have gained great insights into many industries thanks to the variety of companies that have been nominated,” says Karin Strandberg.
This year’s finalists, Massive Entertainment, Radix Kompetens and Televox, all meet the Årets Jobbkomet award criteria in different ways. “An important factor is that the company actively creates new jobs that break down the barriers of social exclusion, thus contributing to making Malmö a better city. The company’s size alone is not decisive,” says Karin Strandberg.
Massive Entertainment, which has created new jobs for several years, has been nominated in the past, and the company recently acquired an entire block to secure space for its continuing growth. Radix Kompetens AB, which provides support and matching for jobseekers, has rich diversity among its employees and its business contributes to breaking down the barriers of social exclusion. The third company nominated, Telavox, is driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and develops world-leading smart and effective telephony and chat solutions.
“We prefer that their growth is organic. Serving on the jury is incredibly exciting, and the discussions between us jury members are intense and touch on everything from the criteria for an outstanding job creator to Malmö’s business climate in general. What are healthy company values? What characterizes companies that grow organically? What initiatives should we highlight in Malmo?” says Karin Strandberg, who, along with the other six jury members, represents companies, investors and partners of Tillväxt Malmö.
Gulliksson has long and extensive experience as an advisor within the field of labour law and has the insight to know that handling issues in this field properly is an essential requirement for companies and their growth.
“There are many companies that have made incredible journeys, sometimes extremely quickly, and it is of the utmost importance to both safeguard values and comply with labour law regulations,” says Karin Strandberg, who concludes that companies seeking to grow require labour law advice regardless of their size.
“All of the companies we gain insight into have one or more entrepreneurs who are passionate about what they do and exhibit incredible dedication. Personally, I think it is exciting to see that Malmo companies are growing thanks to individuals working hard for something they believe in that also significantly benefits the labour market in general.”
