An efficient trademark protection does not merely include the possession of trademark registrations. You need also to take actions in court against infringement of your rights. When the Vodka producer Purity Vodka noticed that their competitor, Absolut Vodka used Purity’s registered trademark and company name Purity, they felt obliged to initiate court proceedings to enforce their rights in Sweden and internationally. After nearly two years of dispute, the parties have now settled the case outside court.
The settlement implies a conclusion of the dispute in a very practicable way, which was satisfactory for the parties. The Gulliksson law firm represented Purity in the case.
